My name is Jenny. I live in California. Somewhere in my family history was a woman named Jenny True. I’m staring down the barrel of 40 with no boyfriend and no kids. I’m pretty sure that’s OK, but I’m still figuring it out.

In the meantime, I cook.

Update: I’m fucking pregnant.

Update: I’m fucking married.

Update: I had a kid!

We met in September at Jeff Springer’s Louisiana themed party on the Delta. Your blog seriously cracks me up. I can’t wait for the next entry.

I’ve been reading your blog when I’m supposed to do other things, and wishing I was a funny writer instead of a horror writer.

    1. For what it’s worth, your comment made me laugh. Horror, humor — what’s the difference? 😀

My youngest is 4, but I still almost spit out my coffee with laughter reading the ginger bowl post. I hate food blogs, but I love your writing so much that I might even try the dang bowl.

Jenny, it was so exciting seeing you on Gough Street today! I KNEW it was you! I found your blog a few months ago (ginger fruit bowl post) and cried laughing. I read bits of the post to my husband and daughters (skipping some of the swears even though my girls learned them very young when I backed into a motorcycle parked very close to our driveway). Our running joke it, “NO YOU. YOU GET OUT. YOU.” Huge fan, and you write an advice column, too? Love.

    1. Sarah, that was the coolest thing that has ever happened to me! So, so great to meet you. I told my therapist about it five minutes later and then my husband. I was DELIGHTED! Thank you for making my day. xoxo
